Goals are Good

p1050933

I like to set goals, and short terms ones are often easier to attain. So…my goal for this week is: Less Coffee, More Water! Exciting times, I know! Hopefully I don’t turn into a caffeine deprive monster!

Dawn is Lovely

Free samples make me happy. 3 free samples in 1, make me even happier. Not usually a fan of “celebrity” scents, I am making an exception for Sarah Jessica Parker. Dawn is my fav, you??

Gap

gap1While I wasn’t head over heels for my Gap shirtdress, I did pick up a few other items that I truly do heart. The amazingly comfortable, Silk Tank Dress, (in black) might just be my go-to for sultry summer evenings. It’s stunning, yet so simple, I can wait to explore accessorizing.  For lazy days at the beach I grabbed a great pair of age appropriate denim cut-off’s.  I’m turning 28 in June, and no longer wish to wear shorts that look like underwear. Finally, a few fun tanks.

A Shopping I Will Go!

So, I’m a planner, and with an upcoming trip to Vancouver (land of decent shopping), it’s time to put together a little wish-list. I find this process allows me to really assess my current wardrobe to see what is lacking and highlight items I’d like to incorporate. This shirtdress from American Apparel is definitely on my list of must try-it-on’s.

Recently, in an attempt to satisfy my shirtdress craving, I purchased the below dress, on sale, at Gap. It’s cute, but it’s super sheer and finding the right article to wear underneath has been a challenge. I hoped it would make me stop yearning for the AA version…it didn’t.

A portrait of ‘Coonie’

coonie

Last weekend my Husband successfully annoyed away the raccoon family living under our back deck.  Despite being told (repeatedly) what trouble these creatures are, I think they are ridiculously cute!  I wish ‘Coonie’ and her little ones all the best in their new digs.

Hockey is dead to me now.

Sadly, so sadly, *sniff sniff*, the Canucks are out of the playoff’s.  Exciting evenings of game watching with family and friends are over until next season.  Wonderful weekend mini-breaks to attend games in Vancouver are also left behind…as a lover of mini-breaks, road trips, ferry rides, shopping in Vancouver, and of course hockey, this is tough to swallow.  Until next season…

So Pretty

lasagne

Recently, I tried out a new recipe for veggie lasagna. Beyond being yummy, it’s the prettiest thing to make and I couldn’t resist taking a pic. Not being the most efficient in the kitchen, the dish took me a while to put together. Although, it’s very simple I read and re-read the directions many times. When it was finally out of the oven and ready to eat, I was too hungry to remember to snap a pic of the finished product. Next time!

Will I, Won’t I?

Part 1 of Marble’s new lookbook is up on the website, and I have been slaving away trying to complete part 2.  As such, blogging has been on the back burner.  Sometimes being tied up with Marble business is convenient…as in…

Sorry Husband, I have been so busy with Marble that I haven’t:

- “cleaned the house.”

- “done your laundry.”

- “showered/ brushed my hair.”

etc, etc, etc

But sometimes, running Marble  means that I’m not able to keep up to date on things that I actually enjoy, like blogging. A friend of mine recently told me that she has decided to post on her blog everyday. Inspired by this, I am determined to make a better effort. We shall see!
