iheart Orange Fizz

orangefish

I am a nail polish girl.  For the past few years I have been devoted to dark shades like We’ll Always Have Paris, Siberian Nights & St. Petersburgundy, mixing in the occasional red for variety.

However, a few months ago I was surprised to find myself drawn to Chanel’s Orange Fizz when I saw it (with my own eye’s) in a magazine. At the time, it was not yet available in Canada, so, being the beauty / fashion nerd that I am, I went to one of the few places where Chanel polish is sold in Victoria and found out exactly when it was arriving. I picked up my bottle the morning that it hit the store (May 18th) and have been wearing it ever since.

I have read mixed reviews about the color online and in mags, but for me it’s like a breath of fresh air. It’s light and summery, but not especially typical or overly girly. I wear a lot of grey and I love how the light orange color looks with it. While it would be nice if Chanel polish was a little bit cheaper, I don’t mind paying $25 once in a while for a color that I love. At this rate, I don’t think a drop will go to waste!

Lions and Tigers and Bears…Oh My

trail

Last week there was a cougar sighting on the trail that I walk (attempt to run) regularly. I do not want to be eaten by a cougar. I am a total scaredy-cat and now I may need to buy a treadmill. But would I actually use a treadmill? Hmmm, that’s a thinker.

How iheart WHO WHAT WEAR

I have been a huge fan of Who What Wear from day one, and it is only getting better. Before I start work in the morning, I take a few minutes to check my email and browse my favorite sites, while sipping on my coffee. WWW is an everyday treat.

Their June Fashion Story: Valley of the Doll is beyond fab. I love the fashion, I love the photography, I love the setting. I love it. Check it out if you’re not familiar with their site. I also love the fact that they provide the large scale image of each photo, these make awesome desktop backgrounds.

WHO WHAT WEAR – Valley of the Doll

It’s a big blue watery road…

Two trips to Vancouver this month meant 4 fantastically-fun ferry rides. First, a girls weekend celebrated my bestie getting married. It was fab opportunity to spend some quality time with my oldest friends. Loved it! Shortly after, a business trip for Stew translated into a bit of a shopping trip for me.  Nice how that works out, isn’t it?!

Two weeks with a wonderful house guest, and a week of with the flu, June has been flying by.  Thankfully, I am on the mend and have a few quiet days ahead of me to catch up on all things computer-y.

Thanks to everyone who stops by to read iheart! OXO

Ta-Da

planter

This weekend we decided to brighten up the stone alcove where our front door is located. I couldn’t be happier with the result. We scored an awesome planter at Winners for under $30, which seemed like a steal compared to the ones at our local garden stores. A fab combination of chartreuse green and deep burgundy plants, and I am in love.

As the weather has warmed up considerably, we have found our attention shift from indoor to outdoor reno’s. It is the first summer out of the condo and in our new house, and the outdoor possibilities seem endless.

New Blue Shoes

I didn’t set out to return home with shoes, but sometimes that’s the way life goes!  It was love a first sight, and I literally couldn’t leave the store without them. I tried, I really did, but they are an amazing blue (lined with gold no less!) and I am weak. For a week they have sat tucked away in my closet, waiting for their debut into the world, perhaps at a time when my husband will be too preoccupied to notice and say “Are those NEW?” Although, as time passes by, I am afforded the ability to respond “New? No, I’ve had these for a whileon second thought, he reads iheart, so I’m done for.
