Stripes, Leopard & Sparkle! Subtitle – Xmas Shopping with a Toddler

How is everyone doing with their holiday shopping lists? I’m feeling a little bit behind this year so I’m trying to whip myself into Santa Clausian-shape (in spirit more than psychical appearance!). Though there are a million a few down sides to shopping with a toddler, I’ve discovered recently that there are actually a few perks:

1. Preferred parking. Gotta love those mother/babe spots right up close to the shopping entrance. I’ve developed a rather perverse glee for when the maniac driver who cut me off trying to get to the best spot has to then reverse OUT of said spot because they don’t have a tot. Score.

2. When scrambling to find the last whatever, I can block the entire isle with my stroller while I search, thereby preventing any sneaky hands from randomly snagging the last size x, red one, duck-shape, etc, until I’ve finished looking.

3. When my munchkin is sweet, deliciously cute and friendly, sales people are happy to help us. When my munchkin is a crying misery*, sales people are happy to help us very quickly.

I’m hoping that as I wade my way through the merriment of consumerism that I’ll discover a few more pros for my list. It’s helpful to remember these things when I’m carrying my girly, my starbucks, bags, 100 rolls of wrapping paper, coats, gloves, hats, mitts, pushing my stroller because she pretended she would actually sit in it this time and nobody will hold the door for me.

* crying (the babe, not me) also helps to avoid long lineups.

I get SO MAD when I see people park in the parents with children spot and they get out and don’t have kids! I would never park there!
I absolutely love your striped top and that militaryesque jacket, such a gerat combination, very chic

So glad I found your site after you Twitter-friended (followed?) me–I need to learn all of the social media lingo ASAP.

Anyway, you look darling in this outfit–very subtly on-trend while remaining practical for your everyday lifestyle. That is such an important thing to show young women they can do at a time in their lives when many feels sweatpants are their only options. I commend you for looking cute while shopping with a toddler. What a challenge!

    Cheers!

ooh, I love the pop of animal print! It looks so good with the stripes and military jacket. And, based on your tips, I may have to borrow a toddler for some shopping I need to do…

As soon as I saw your flats I remembered I have sequined flats too! And forgot them at my apartment, which is several hours away lol. Love this outfit, too cute on you! Shopping alone is stressful enough, so hopefully your toddler tips work out well for you!

  7. Way to look on the positive side of shopping with a little one! You look adorable – love this outfit.

  8. Oh wow I love this look! I easily fall for sequin accessories to a classic and casual look, but seem to be unable to do so myself. I go bold or go home, but I always, always love this look! It’s perfection and I really wish those shoes would come to play in my closet :-D

Those flats are so cute, and I love the subtle touch of the leopard printed belt.

Those sound like some excellent benefits! Although, I do almost all of my shopping online, since I travel for the holidays, and it is often easier to just ship things straight to my folks’ house.

Also, we had the same idea for executing EBEW: shiny shoes! :3
