Pinspiration (and Polymer Clay Frustration)

So, yesterday I thought I’d mix things up and do this DIY as my Pinspiration post. Sadly, it ended up being an epic failure (and a waste of my very precious adult-alone-while-baby-naps time)! Oh, how my crafty crown has fallen.

I’d been wanting to roll the dice with polymer clay for ages. I was pretty pumped (and dare I say, a little cocky, which undoubtedly contributed to my demise), I thought I’d bang out the neckace, bing bang, boom. Yet, as soon as I started, I knew things weren’t going to go my way. My clay was too hard (I’m pretty sure I sustained some sort of thumb related injury trying to ‘condition’ it). I’ll spare you all the drawn out sequence of down hill events. We’ve probably already talked about it for longer than your liking! Therefore, DIY’s aside for today, I’ll take the easy way out with another Pinspirational outfit post.

Outfit Details: Gap top, Jacob sweater, Joe Fresh pants, Bay necklace, Citizen watch, Ray Ban sunnies, Cole Haan bag, Roberto Vianni flats

I absolutely love your version of this look!! The striped sweater over the denim top is perfect. And the leopard print flats are so great with it. I’m sorry your craft didn’t work out, that’s so frustrating when that happens !

Love this look the necklace is gorgeous. My sister and I used to make a lot of things with the Sculpy brand polymer clay, but nothing that classy ever. Mixing glitter with it is so cool. We never had ‘conditioning’ problems… maybe your clay dried out a little to much before you used it?

Chambray and stripes = totally working it. I think your addition of the big necklace totally changes the tone of the outfit in a really great way too!

Oh my gosh, I love this! It has just the right amount of “slouch” to it. Sorry to hear about the crafting, that happens to me a lot too. Everything works out so much easier in my head. Better luck next time, and look on the bright side, at least your outfit worked out well!
