Happy hearts! As soon as I saw this pin (yes, I’m Pinterest crazy, I know!), I knew that I had to make a bunch to include in my Valentine’s cards. Aren’t they so sweet?! They’re super easy and inexpensive to make. A perfect little DIY. Here’s some simple instructions just in case you’re wondering:
1. Determine the size of the heart you’d like and cut it out of paper to use as a template. (Base your heart off of the corner of a piece of paper. That way you’ll have the right angle needed to fit the book page.)
2. Trace a bunch of hearts onto felt. I made dark and light grey, cream, burgundy and bright red.
3. Stitch two pieces of felt together using complimentary thread. Again, think about keeping the corner angle for the page to slip into and stitch about half way down and around. (I choose a ‘back side’ and kept the tiny little knots of thread exposed.)

TODAY’S LOVE TIP: Get complimentary! Yesterday, I thought my hair looked like a hot mess when I left the house. But then the wonderful Starbuck’s cashier told me that my hair looked awesome. Instant mood boost! What a sweetie. So, today I’m going to pay it forward and compliment people I cross paths with. xx

Hot diggity, or should I say cold diggity, it snowed. Being mostly of the falling & melting variety, I’m a happy camper. It’s lovely to watch the flakes dance through the air and my little lady is beyond happy to smush her teeny face against the window in wonder. The melting is also lovely because I don’t really want to think about being trapped in our house for too long (the magical face smushing could get old).

Today’s Pinspiration is none other than the astoundingly lovely Sydney of The Daybook. One of my favourite bloggers, she’s a new mom with never ending style! I thought that I did an alright job of staying stylish while pregnant with my daughter, but Syndey took me to school. She totally rocked it. Well played my friend.

I knit this cowl the other night while watching a movie. I’m wasn’t thrilled with it at first. It’s not without ugly bits character, but when it’s all scrunched up around my neck it’s super cozy.

TGIF my friends! What special plans do you have for the upcoming weekend?? I’m excitedly waiting for my bestie (you met her here) to go into labour. And I’d really like an excuse to bake a cake. Anyone want to come over?
This pin was the most fun to recreate so far! It was the first time out for my leopard flats and faux fur scarf which were both scored in post holiday clearance sales.

Looking at this pic as my Pinspiration, I really wanted to leap into the photo and steal her exact outfit. I mean, it’s a feast of fabulous knitty-texture and I’m totally craving that this winter.

A question for all of you lovely people with bangs, what’s the secret to the bangs vs. wind dilemma? Do I just let them blow around willy-nilly, do I hold them down with my hands whenever I’m outside, or do I hairspray the crap out of them and create a wind-resistant forehead shield? I’m perplexed.

What do you think of Pinspiration round twosies? It’s only my second attempt, but this is actually a lot of fun. When I posted my first one, a few people mentioned that they were going to try it too. Ummm, yes, you should please. We can be Pinspirationally buddies!
Also, a lovely friend of mine recently suggested that I use props in my photos. Too funny, bunny. I asked the baby what I should take a picture of and she said ‘aha aha aha aha’ (that means doggie). Thus resulting in:

To be followed by my, there’s-something-very-interesting-on-the-horizon shot.

Happy Middle of the Week Day! xx

Ahhhh, you’ve returned to me. Thank you. Have you come to view the bangs? The bangs are friendly, but please do not tap on the glass. Or feed the bangs. That could get messy.
Ok ok, let’s set that silliness aside and get down to the nitty-gritty of what I like to call Pinspiration (inspiration found on Pinterest of course). While I don’t feel like tackling another 30 for 30 right now (check out my previous remix’s here & here), I do feel like a bit of a bloggy challenge to get me though the post holiday haze that is January.
Enter Pinspiration. It seems like the prefect time to spend the month embracing some of the many gorgeous pins that continually call my name. So, everyday I’ll post a piece of Pinstiration and what it lead me to wear or make or eat…you get the idea!
To kick things off, I picked this pin. A cozy, yet totally chic outfit. Oh how I wanted to slap on some attitude and go stand in a wickedly cool street.* Instead I opted to grab a baby (mine this time), jokes jokes, and awkardly run through various parking lots trying to dodge raindrops (which I don’t think can actually be done, so why do I try?).

I’ve previously mentioned a few of my resolutions for 2012 (not falling alseep in my clothes from the day has already proved to be too ambitious a goal), and mixing up my outfit poses is just one in a list of many blog improvements I hope to make over the year. However, this is not exactly what I had in mind:

*I also tried wearing socks with my loafers but I just couldn’t do it. My feet asked me not to.
